Building on the success of our flagship school, MESA Links is expanding to meet the growing demand for high-quality education in Brooklyn and is projected to double in size over the next 5 years:

  • MESA South Brooklyn launched this year with its inaugural 9th grade class of 130 students, offering a rigorous college-preparatory program that mirrors the excellence of our flagship campus.
  • MESA East New York will launch its high school campus in SY 26-27, bringing the same high-quality experience to students in the East New York & Cypress Hills communities.
  • Our MESA Alumni Lab supports 125 young adults (ages 18–24) from across NYC, helping them re-engage with their education and career pathways through small-group workshops and interventions.

To support this expansion, we are seeking a Network Director of Operations at MESA Links who will oversee the operations of all four MESA entities. The Network Director of Operations is a strategic leader responsible for driving operational excellence across all schools in the network. This role focuses on managing and executing high-impact projects, streamlining policies and procedures, and increasing the overall efficiency of school-based and network operations. With a deep commitment to equity, innovation, and continuous improvement, the Director will lead professional development, manage operational budgets, and use data to inform decision-making and long-term planning.

Specific Responsibilities:

Project Management & Operational Efficiency (60%)

  • Execute network-wide strategic projects initiated by the executive leadership

  • ions.Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) that promote consistency, clarity, and compliance across campuses. Maintain project dashboards, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication plans.

Emerging Needs & Responsive Initiatives

  • (20%) Respond to time-sensitive and evolving school or network operational needs.
  • Lead short-term initiatives or task forces to address urgent or emergent issues affecting school-based or network operations.Provide critical thought partnership and logistical support to school and network leaders on emerging topics.

Autonomous Leadership & Innovation (15-20%)

  • Proactively identify opportunities for operational improvement and efficiency.
  • Pilot innovative tools, systems, or models that improve the daily functioning of schools.
  • Serve as a thought partner to network leadership on operations strategy.

Budget Management

  • Oversee and manage operational budgets related to network and school-based projects.
  • Track expenditures, provide financial forecasts, and ensure alignment with project goals and network-wide priorities.
  • Design and administer staff surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of operational systems and PDs.
  • Analyze data and feedback to drive iterative improvement in systems and service delivery.

Other duties as assigned by the Managing Director of Operations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience (in education), including 2-3 years in a leadership role focused on school-based operations (network experience a plus)
  • Proficiency in Google Apps, including Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs or similar software is required.
  • Broad knowledge of the assessment programs such as the Regents Exams, AP Exams, SAT, ACT, and NYSESLAT.
  • Familiarity utilizing a broad range of student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool), academic assessment tools (e.g. Renaissance, IXL), and education software (e.g., Clever, SchoolMint, Overgrad)
  • Preferred experience working directly with students, preferably required in the charter, private, or public school.
  • Strong ability to communicate and develop relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple campuses and teams.
  • Belief in and alignment with MESA’s core beliefs and educational philosophy.

Salary
$120,000-$140,000, commensurate with experience.
